A huge shout-out to Gina Palmer aka shipofools999 who just sent me two boxes of science fiction magazines (Analogs, SF&F, etc. from the 1980's to now). Yeah!!!! The basic idea is that if you want to write the stuff, you should read the stuff. Corollary is what Emerson once said: Young writers often give their brains too much exercise and not enough food, meaning they write too much and read too little. This will help me catch up - I look forward to a lot of time of just lounging around reading - and, after the game ships in about a year, one of the things I want to do is finish up writing some of these short stories that have been sitting around.
