Interesting factoid: New Jersey has been blue every Presidential election since 1992. And we all know how blue Massachusetts is. If Romney picks Chris Christie (governor of NJ) as running mate, it will be the first time in, maybe forever, that a presidential ticket has LOST BOTH STATES that the Prez and VP candidates were from. (Even Mondale and Dukakis won their own states - Mondale barely.) Remember back in 2000, when Gore was predicted to lose Tennessee (which he proceeded to do), and Bush hammered him during the campaign that even "the people who know him best" aren't going to vote for him. Well, neither of the states that know Romney or Christie best will be going for them. |
