One wonders about toys and games from earlier centuries.

King, Queen, Bishop, Rook, Knight, Pawn-- are there "deleted scenes" chess pieces that didn't make it into the canonical game?

Puppets from a Punch-and-Judy-and-Fred Show?

I think the deleted chess pieces include a court jester, a rival to the throne, and a royal food sampler guy who dies if the food's poisoned.
