Frank is too embarrassed to post this, so he asked me to. He illustrated this piece for "Realms of Fantasy" this month called "Melanie."
You might notice that I am naked. And turning into a snake. But, mostly naked.
Two weeks ago, Frank and I attended the Locus awards, where Frank inducted Frank R. Paul into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame. Christopher Moore made a joke during the ceremonies about me that went something like this. "Frank's a lucky guy. She's very tall, and she loves him. Probably for free."
So, that's Brianna Spacekat Wu for you. Naked this month in "Realms of Fantasy," and probably not a whore.
haha..it's always nice when they paint/draw us naked and we look good!
Justin is still completely unsure whether to show any artwork featuring me thus... I'm not sure he believes me when I tell him its fine to do so. (One of my fave pieces J did was of me half-covered by a swirly- patterned blanket- looks like I'm sleeping naked among stars and galaxies)
So Frank- don't be embarrassed- if she says its fine, then its fine! (And congrats on it being in Rof!)
Er, now I get to feel all embarrassed as well, for being the person who wrote the story that inspired that piece of art... It's a great illo, though, and it goes very well with the story. Thanks to Frank and you for creating it!
The one at centre left is the equation for kinetic energy. The others are a bit too distorted for me to identify, since I'm rusty on my wave-function equations and such-like.
The equations all relate to Bournoulli's principle. Which, for those not in the know, is related to fluid dynamics, and, yes, kinetic energy. (For instance, Bournoulli explains why, when you constrict the size of a hose (e.g., with a pistol-grip sprayhead) the water comes out much more forcefully.
